And Here We Are
Dating since 2019 has given me...a few stories. 😂
Some lasted one date. Some lasted longer. Some hurt. Some are hilarious in hindsight. And somehow, most of them taught me something.

It all started with my roommate bursting through the door to tell me she'd found an attractive redhead. Obviously, I was intrigued.
The date was actually going pretty well...until it came time to pay. That's when things got a little awkward—and eventually earned him a nickname.
It was just boba. At least, I thought it was just boba. Turns out one tiny tapioca pearl was about to teach me something much bigger.
There was pickleball, Freddy's, a small fry...and just enough momentum to make me wonder if this was actually going somewhere.
We'd been talking online when I suggested we meet up spontaneously. So I drove 40 minutes to see him...and about ten minutes later, it was over.
At first, we had plenty to talk about—including the fact that we were both from ALASKA! But the more we talked, the more I started noticing one little problem...
I thrifted the cutest top for our blind group date and was actually pretty excited. Then he showed up in gym shorts and a T-shirt...and I started wondering if we'd gotten very different memos about the evening.
We met country dancing, danced a few songs, and had enough in common that I did something I almost never did—I went back and asked for his number. There was just one tiny problem...
He told me he wasn't looking for anything serious. Then somewhere between mini golf, ice cream, and a very memorable pickup line, his actions started telling a completely different story.
We seemed to have so many of the important things in common... until one conversation showed me just how differently we pictured the future.
My K-drama fantasy was finally happening: a cute guy, intentional pursuit, and my very first boyfriend. Turns out, the real story had a lot more to teach me than I expected.
I really thought I'd found someone who was on my wavelength. We shared faith, values, flowers showed up...and before I knew it, I had a boyfriend. Then the little “Hmm...interesting” moments started adding up.
